tresses of the past
DESCRIPTION:
The editorial explores the idea of hair as a sacred vessel of knowledge, wisdom, and spirituality, as it’s seen across numerous cultures. Hair is the extension of the human wearing and growing it; it is woven into one’s personal transformation and past lives. To me personally, hair is the product of all the good and the bad happening at every stage of my life. When I want to step onto the next level of life and remove the past negativity, I cut my hair. In the simplicity of the tresses lies its importance and the complicity of its attribute — the editorial mimics the latter statement. “Tresses of the Past” explores the simplicity in styling and the way garments can mimic the flow of the hair: fluid textures, cascading fabrics, and delicate weaves. Calm, toned-down, earthy colours of the garments attribute to the natural and spiritual essence of the editorial.
